May 28th, 2011 Storm Chase - Northern Indiana / Southern Michigan

Kristen Gipson and I decided to head out on a last minute chase.  We were positioned right along the warm front boundary and the Storm Prediction Center was calling for a possible Derecho in N Indiana and S Lower Michigan.  We were hoping to catch a few spin-up tornadoes on the leading edge of the line, so we headed South where the warnings were already in progress.  We positioned between two "notches" in the line of storms which put us about 1/2 north of Millersburg, IN.  The tornado sirens were going off when we stepped out of the car to take some pictures and video.  Since the line was moving so quickly, we only got about 3 good minutes to shoot.  There were a few interesting "lowerings" and weak rotating areas, but nothing too exciting.
